Project description

SpokenLayer is a podcast production studio that transforms written content into high-quality, voice-first audio experiences. I was approached by the CEO to lead the redesign of their outdated website to better reflect the brand's personality and improve conversion for two distinct target audiences: podcasters and advertisers.

My role

As a Product and a UX/UI designer, I worked closely with the Creative Lead, Writer, and Developer, I redesigned the site to be modern, interactive, and accessible, while clearly communicating the value proposition to both user groups. The focus was on streamlining form submissions, making the site more intuitive, and driving high-intent actions with clear CTAs on every page.

Summary of problem
  • The old site failed to clearly speak to different target audiences, causing drop-off and confusion.
  • The call-to-action was weak and buried, which impacted lead conversion.
  • The brand's visual identity felt outdated and didn’t reflect the vibrant, tech-forward nature of the business.
Project background

With a limited budget, I leaned on cost-effective UX methods like free survey tools, usability testing via remote calls, and competitive analysis to inform the design. The client had a broad vision, so I proactively led discovery, proposed layout options, and presented design trends aligned with their brand and goals.

Key outcomes
  • Redesigned the website for two distinct user journeys (podcasters and advertisers), resulting in a 42% increase in completed form submissions within the first 30 days.
  • Streamlined user flows and simplified forms, reducing friction and increasing the average time on page by 35%, with users finding the experience more intuitive and goal-oriented.
  • Refreshed the brand’s visual identity with a modern, neon-style interface that resonated with the podcast studio vibe, leading to positive client feedback on clarity, structure, and energy of the design.

Testimonials
Collaborative and Creative Partnership

It was a pleasure working together, and I hope we get to collaborate again soon. While the design was strong, we realized mid-project that our messaging lacked clarity, which led to a shift in direction—especially on the homepage. This experience highlighted the importance of aligning product and marketing goals early on.
